Our Teachers

Ms Fernandez

Hello, my name is Ms Ana, I speak English and Spanish. I took my Early Childhood Education and Montessori courses from San Jose City College, and have worked at Appleseed for over 15 years (since 2009).

I strongly believe that children can learn through play, interacting with others, and hands-on learning activities. I also believe that respecting, caring, bonding with both children and their families are the vital foundation for memorable early childhood experiences.

I strive to build loving and respectful relationships with all of our children and their families. I like to observe and learn from others, everyone is a teacher in my classroom. I find joy seeing people grow and learn.

Besides caring for children, also have a CNA license and have been working part time providing home care assistance for the US Veterans Affairs since 2011. I love helping others!

In my spare time, I love cooking, traveling, watching movies, and Spending time with my family and friends.

Ms Winnie

Hi, my name is Winnie Nie. I’m thrilled to be a part of the team here at Appleseed Montessori School, working alongside wonderful students and colleagues.

I was born and raised in China, where I received my education before my family immigrated to the United States in 2006. Prior to moving, I worked for 16 years at the Jiangmen branch of the Agricultural Bank of China. My passion for teaching began while volunteering at Bright Beginning Preschool, and it only grew stronger during my time at Raise Star Daycare from 2009 to 2013. To build on this experience, I took Child Development courses at De Anza College, followed by the Montessori IT Child Development course at the Montessori Teacher Education Center in Sunnyvale.

Since joining Appleseed Montessori School in September 2013, I’ve had the opportunity to work in toddler, bilingual, and English classes. Currently, I work as a floater, so you may see me all around the school. I can speak Mandarin, Cantonese, and English and I am always here to help whenever you need. I truly enjoy encouraging children to learn independently, and I appreciate each child’s unique qualities. In my free time, I love traveling, doing aerobic exercise, and sharing delicious food with family and friends.
