- Toddlers: Age 18 months – 2 ½ years
The toddler class consists of 12 children maximum with a ratio of one teacher to every six children. Toddler classrooms consist of areas where children can experience many hands-on activities that blend five of the major Montessori curriculum areas: Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Math and Art. Children at this age are given many opportunities for building their confidence, grace, and other social-emotional skills, as well as coordination, language development, early math concepts, creative arts and crafts, music, gross and fine motor skills development, toilet training, and independence. Additionally, there is daily nap time for those children who need it.
- Preschool/PreKindergarten/Kindergarten: Age 2 ½ - 6 years
This mixed age group consists of 24 children with two teachers; one lead teacher and one supporting teacher. Children in this group are emotionally ready for school and toilet-trained. The daily program in our preschool environment includes the seven Montessori curriculum areas: Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Math, Science, Geography, and Art & Music. The goal of this program is to build academic and social-emotional competency through activities and curriculum that blend individual work time with small group and larger group projects like cooking, cultural studies, and outdoor playtime. The program offers nap or non-nap schedule for each child, depending on their needs and energy level.
